📖 What Is the SAT?
The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is a standardized college entrance exam used by many colleges and universities to assess college readiness. The digital SAT measures skills in Reading & Writing and Mathematics. A strong SAT score can strengthen college applications, increase scholarship opportunities, and demonstrate academic readiness.

📍 Where Can I Take the SAT?
Texas Success Academy does not administer the SAT. Students must register through the College Board and select an authorized testing center.
SAT testing is available at many:
- Public high schools
- Private schools
- Colleges and universities
During registration, students can search for available testing locations by ZIP code.

Students can prepare using free official resources, including:

Practicing consistently—even just 20–30 minutes a few times each week—can improve confidence and test performance.
📝 PSAT Corner
The PSAT/NMSQT® (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is excellent preparation for the SAT and can qualify eligible 11th-grade students for the National Merit Scholarship Program.
Why Take the PSAT?
- Practice using the same digital testing format as the SAT.
- Identify strengths and areas for improvement.
- Receive personalized score reports.
- Qualify for National Merit Scholarships (11th grade).
- Explore college and scholarship opportunities.
Where Can TSA Students Take the PSAT?
Because Texas Success Academy is an online school, the PSAT is not administered through TSA.
Students should:
- Contact their local zoned public high school to ask if outside students may participate.
- Contact nearby private schools that administer the PSAT.
- Begin contacting schools in August or early September, as registration deadlines and seating vary by school.
Planning ahead is important because many schools have limited testing capacity.
Recommended Testing Timeline
- 9th Grade: PSAT 8/9 (if offered)
- 10th Grade: PSAT 10 or PSAT/NMSQT
- 11th Grade: PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test)
- 11th–12th Grade: SAT for college admissions and scholarships

Take a full-length digital practice test before your official exam.
Practicing under timed conditions helps improve pacing, reduce test-day anxiety, and identify areas where additional study is needed.
