Academic Advisor
Texas Success Academy is a private online school seeking professionals who are upbeat and talented to join our team. We are specifically looking for people who are driven, self-motivated, and enjoy interacting with new people daily.
We are seeking an Academic Advisor to join our awesome team. The ideal candidate will have experience, dependable work history, experience in customer service, critical thinking skills,
organization, and technical skills. The Academic Advisor is responsible for advising students concerning the academic requirements for their chosen program. The Academic Advisor must understand the processes for registration and course selection.
The Academic Advisor will be responsible for managing students from the time they enroll until they complete their course(s) and/or graduate. They will also remain available to TSA Alumni.
The Academic Advisor will be expected to gain a deep understanding of Texas Success Academy programs, speak with parents and students daily regarding topics such as program fees, curriculum, career services, class progress, college prep to include uploading required forms to college portals, informational events, etc.
Additionally, this position will represent and support student services via presentations, workshops, special events, commencement, new student welcome week, open houses,
etc. (currently conducted virtually).
Advisors will assist K12 and/or Adult Students to include
Alumni.
Available Shifts:
Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
Pay: $13.00 - $15.00 per hour (Based on experience)
Qualifications:
Requires an Associate degree
Minimum of one to three (1-3) years of experience within an Academic Advising Center
(Proven by resume/references)
Experience working in an educational setting
Must live in Texas (Able to work in Arlington, TX)
Spanish Language is a Plus

Responsibilities:
Ensure parents and students receive excellent service by providing constant communication and following up.
Provide new student advice on programs, track student progress to ensure they are successful, and coordinate with teachers to ensure students are completing coursework in a timely manner.
Connect with assigned students at key periods throughout the semester, providing information, support, and resources to the student as needed.
Provide structured support and guidance to students at designated progression points to encourage undecided students to utilize “getting decided” resources and to guide students through timely and appropriate academic, career, and transfer planning steps.
Utilize retention initiatives to support students in their progression toward class completion and encouraging students/parents to enroll in additional classes as needed.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records on students served by utilizing TSAs student trackers.
Handle student paperwork with utmost confidentiality.
Cooperate with other departments at the academy as needed to ensure student success.
Provide constant and consistent communication with your assigned students regarding class selection, progress, etc.
Assist students with college preparation as needed.
Closely monitor students' progress and work to set a partnership with students that will guide them efficiently through their academic program.

Who we need:
This position is to provide group or one on one academic support to TSA K12 students who need help in their coursework. These roles serve online students and there are positions available for writing, math, science, and social studies.
This is a work from home position part-time position. Tutors are a 1099.
Responsibilities Related to Purpose:
- Provide tutoring/coaching for students; reviewing course lectures, homework, etc.
- Review diagnostic assessments of students.
- Receive Early Alerts and make outbound calls to set up tutoring appointments.
- Update CRM (official student database) with specific appointment notes for use by Faculty and advisors.
- Maintain confidentiality of student records and services provided.
- May be requested to perform administrative duties as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to speak, read and write English Fluently
- Have current 3.5 GPA or above.
- Must possess an “A” in specific course for which you will be tutoring students.
- Have a willingness to help student succeed.

The ideal candidate will be highly skilled, experienced, have dependable work history, possess emotional intelligence, critical thinking skills, organizational and technical skills. TSAs teacher are
responsible for fostering a positive learning environment for students, support student learning and improve overall learning outcomes. All Teachers are expected to aid as needed during their office hours and assist students achieve their educational goals, to include working with the staff as needed.

· Hold a minimum of 2 group lessons per grade monthly where students come together and meet one another, and you explain lessons or create fun activities for students.

· Must keep accountability of all students and track meetings/grades that can easily convert to a monthly report for record keeping.

As a Registrar you will be entrusted to work with student records for a growing online K12 school. You must represent and communicate our mission and vision to our prospective students.
