SAT Updates & Important Testing Information
The SAT remains an important part of the college admissions process for many students, especially for those planning to apply to four-year universities, competitive programs, or scholarships.
While some schools have adopted test-optional policies, strong SAT scores can still play a key role in strengthening applications and opening additional opportunities.
Why the SAT Still Matters
A strong SAT score can strengthen a student’s college application, help qualify for merit-based scholarships, and demonstrate academic preparedness. For some students, submitting SAT scores can improve competitiveness and open additional opportunities, especially when paired with a solid academic record.
What Students Should Be Doing Now
Effective SAT preparation includes understanding the test format, practicing regularly, and identifying strengths and areas for improvement. Students are encouraged to use official practice tests, review foundational math and reading skills, and create a study plan that allows for steady progress over time rather than last-minute cramming.
SAT registration deadlines can fill quickly, and test centers may have limited availability. Students should register early, confirm testing locations, and keep track of important dates. Staying organized and prepared helps reduce stress and ensures a smoother testing experience.
