Credit Transfer & Graduation: What Families Need to Know

As graduation approaches, we’re receiving several questions from families of public high school seniors completing Credit Transfer (CT) courses. Below are helpful answers to guide your planning and ensure your student stays on track.

❓Frequently Asked Questions

When should my student start their Credit Transfer course?

To ensure credits are completed and reported before graduation deadlines, students should begin no later than March 1.

What if my student starts on April 1?

Courses that begin on April 1 will conclude on May 31. Since many public high schools hold graduation ceremonies before this date, final credits may not be posted in time.

Why is the May 31 completion date important?

Home high schools must receive and process final grades before graduation. If coursework finishes after their deadline, it could delay graduation eligibility.
