Explore TEFA Funding at Local Information Sessions
The Texas Education Freedom Account (TEFA) program, administered by the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts, provides Texas families with flexible funding to support their child’s education. TEFA is a state-wide school choice initiative designed to help families access the resources their child needs to succeed academically.
Approved families can use TEFA funds for private school tuition, homeschooling, tutoring, technology, and other education-related expenses. Funds are intended to give families flexibility while ensuring educational needs are met.
How TEFA Funds Can Be Used

Tuition and fees at a private school, higher education provider, online course/program, or program that provides training for an industry-based credential approved by the Texas Education Agency
Textbooks or other instructional materials
Required uniforms
Fees for classes provided by school districts that do not qualify the child for inclusion in the school’s average daily attendance
Other Approved Expenses
